Being a successful woman of integrity and class is hard work…I don’t know how you beauties continue to do it day in and day out. Hand claps to YOU!!! I admire your soft femininity, your unquestionable confidence, your submissive and quiet yet strong disposition toward life, your assertiveness, your sassy edge that doesn’t offend, your ability to not take this life so seriously—laughter is your medicine, your strong independence, your resilience, your unwavering conviction to protect what you deem worthy, your ability to balance the various elements of life with grace and efficiency, best of all…the fact that you can do all of this and still LOOK GOOD (hair done, nails done, everything big hahaha)…YOU’RE AMAZING! The light of God shines so brightly in you that it radiates through everything you do. Striving to become “SHE”.
Becoming “she” comes at a price. At times--a high price. I believe it was my mother who I heard once say “listen to the whispers so you don’t have to hear the screams”. How many of us can relate to this?! Let me be the first to raise my hand and testify!! School of the Hard Knocks—often referred to “experience” is loud, rambunctious, and sometimes destructive—an assortment of piercing screams. Experience has a price—sometimes one that’s not worth it. Although laced with mistakes, failures and unwise decisions, I am not ashamed of my past because it has truly shaped me to be who I am today. It also allows me to speak into the lives of others to admonish and encourage them. We all have our own paths, our own stories, our own convictions, our own treasure troves of wisdom that comes by way of life screaming at us. Although we are still on the path to becoming “she”, there is a whole generation of impressionable young ladies behind us that can benefit from our experience. We can be their whisper so they don’t have to endure the screams. With that being said, I am asking you…yes YOU…to help me help others.
